Is there a dog in your bed?

A few months ago the survey question asked where our dogs slept. The majority of people responded that they slept in bed with their owners. I was really surprised by that.

Some people are reluctant to admit they let their dogs into their bed. Dog trainers generally agree that there’s nothing wrong with it as long as the dog moves when asked.  I remember when I was a kid and my dog slept at the foot of my bed, on top of the covers, but some time during the night would leave me and find another bed in the house or go to his own bed. Now that I’m older, my dogs still sleep in my bedroom but not my bed. When I saw the survey results, I began to feel guilty because I don’t allow my dogs into bed with me. Then I thought maybe these people wash their sheets daily or have small dogs. The survey didn’t get into details.  I mean, what do you do when your dog is wet, dirty or smelly? Or hogs the blanket?!
